Hi everyone, Mr. B is able to start trotting around me now at liberty - his strides are still very long, but he has the idea. He goes out every day in the sunshine and has an extra big lunch! He has started whinnying to me and will follow me around now, He is so sweet and smart, Karen

  1. Mr. B is starting to nod yes and smile and is learning to free lunge around me. He is able to walk and trot now circling me and I have been helping him to understand to put his head down to stretch and relax his muscles. He is such a sweet and willing horse - so kind and gentle.

  2. Hi Karen,

I think Mr. B just seems like the coolest horse. I envy who ever is the chosen adopter that gets to be this horse's partner.

I have a few questions for you...

First, what do you use for treats?

Also I would like to know what techniques you use in the first few months of getting to know a horse and in their training during this time?

  3. Hello, Thank you so much - he is a real sweetheart. I use little carrot bits very sparingly and stretch out the rewards as the lessons go on and improvements are noted. I use liberty sessions to create and foster a close bond with my horses initially and then throughout the training as well to improve attention, performance, trust and confidence. I hope this helps - let me know how it's going for you. Karen
